Woman 1: What do we got? Chocolate chip? Allison?
Allison: Yeah.
Woman 1: Jack and I need to see you in his office.
Allison: Okay.
Man: Thanks for coming in, Allison. Well, we wanted to talk to you today because we had a little debate on the conference call with New York about you.
Allison: You… About me? You were talking about me?
Man: We were wondering aloud to one another whether or not you would be good for on camera.
Allison: What’d you decide?
Woman 1: They… They decided that they like you, and they would like to put you on camera.
Allison: Really?
Woman 1: I know. I was so surprised, too.
Allison: Oh, my God. This is the best news ever. Thank you so much. This is great!
Man: Congratulations.
Allison: Thank you.
Man: I’ll take that smile as a “Yes, I’ll do it.”
Allison: Absolutely. I’m so excited! Oh, my God.
Woman 1: It’s a lot of work. Can’t wait to see what happens. It’s gonna be tough. Tough job.
Man: About the work, most immediately, there’s gonna be some things that you’re gonna be able to get…
Allison: Okay.
Man: …that other people in the office don’t get. One of them, gym membership.
Allison: You want me to lose weight?
Man: No, I don’t want you to lose weight.
Allison: No. We can’t legally ask you to do that.
Man: We didn’t say lose weight. I might say tighten.
Allison: Tight.
Man: A little tighter?
Woman 1: Just like toned and smaller.
Man: Don’t make everything smaller. I don’t want to generalize that way. Tighter.
Woman 1: We don’t want you to lose weight. We just want you to be healthy.
Allison: Okay.
Woman 1: You know, by eating less. We would just like it if you go home and step on the scale and write down how much you weigh and subtract it by, like, 20.
Allison: Twenty.
Woman 1: And then weigh that much.
Man: Just remember, you’ve got it here, you’ve got it here and everybody’s gonna see you right there.

- Step1 無音で動画を見てどのような場面、状況なのかを想像する。
- Step2 英語の音声と合わせて動画を視聴する。この段階では英語字幕やスクリプトは見ずに、自分の実力を試す。ディクテーションの際はこのSTEPで行う。
- Step3 英語字幕や上記のスクリプトを参考にしながら、英語の内容をしっかり確認する。必要なら辞書を引いても良い。ディクテーションのときは、ここで答え合わせなどをする。
- Step4 ミラーリングの練習の際には、ここで英語字幕やスクリプト無しで動画を再生し練習する。発音、抑揚だけでなく。身振り手振りや感情もコピーする。
- Step5 最終確認のために、もう一度英語字幕やスクリプト無しで動画を視聴する。英語をどれだけ理解できたかを確認する。
